Privacy Policy
Draft, October 2026
The short version
Your moments, your paintings, their titles and your signature stay on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud if you turn iCloud on. We never receive them.
Apple sells the plans and handles payment. We never see your payment details.
If you allow ad measurement, Meta and Google learn that an ad brought you here and whether you bought the app. Nothing else.
You can turn ad measurement off and erase all your data in Settings at any time.
Who we are
Abstract Mood is made by Mercurial Medicine, Strada Înfrățirii 28, Ap. 4, Târgu Mureș, Mureș, Romania (trade register J2021001156260, CUI 44599670). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Write to us at hello@abstractmood.com.
What stays on your iPhone
The moments you mark, the paintings they make, their titles and names, and your signature are stored on your iPhone. If you turn on iCloud, Apple keeps a copy in your own iCloud account. We can’t read either, and nothing about them is ever sent to us or to anyone else.
The daily reminder
If you ask for it, iOS schedules the reminder on your iPhone. Nothing about it leaves your iPhone.
Purchases
Apple sells the yearly plan and the lifetime purchase, and handles payment, refunds and Family Sharing under its own terms and privacy policy. The app asks Apple, on your iPhone, whether you own a plan. We never receive your name, your Apple Account or your payment details.
Ad measurement
People find Abstract Mood through ads on Instagram, Facebook and Google. Only if you allow it, the app tells Meta and Google about these events: the app was installed and opened, the tour was started, finished or skipped, the plans were shown, a free month or a purchase was started, and a purchase was made, with its price and currency. With them goes an identifier for your device: Apple’s advertising identifier if you also allow tracking in Apple’s prompt, otherwise identifiers that Meta’s and Google’s tools keep for the app on your iPhone. Meta and Google use this to tell whether their ads work, under their own privacy policies, and may process it outside the European Union under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Nothing about your moments, paintings, titles or signature is ever sent.
Until you answer, these events wait on your iPhone. If you don’t allow ad measurement, they are deleted and nothing is sent. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent first, and your consent is the legal basis; elsewhere the app sends them only if you allow tracking in Apple’s prompt. You can turn ad measurement off at any time in Settings. Nothing in the app depends on it.
Apple’s own ad measurement, which doesn’t identify you, may also tell an advertiser that an ad led to an install.
Crash reports
If you share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple gives us anonymous crash reports and performance data.
This website
abstractmood.com is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes the technical data any web server receives, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the pages and protect the site, under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/). The website sets no cookies, runs no scripts and uses no analytics.
How long things are kept
We keep nothing about you. Events waiting on your iPhone are deleted once they are sent or when you decline. Meta and Google keep measurement data under their own rules; for Google we choose the shortest time it offers. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer them.
Your rights
You can erase everything the app keeps on your iPhone (Settings, Erase all my data), withdraw your consent to ad measurement at any time (Settings, Ad measurement), and ask us about anything. You have the rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and you can complain to a data protection authority: in Romania the ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro), or the authority where you live. No decisions are made about you automatically.
Children
Abstract Mood is not made for children. People under 18 are never measured for ads.
Changes
When this policy changes, the new version appears here with its date, and the app tells you about important changes before they take effect.
